Leah Albrecht is Director of Ayurvedic Therapies at Yogaveda.
Leah comes to Ayurveda from a nursing background.
Her love of yoga and dedicated practice over many years led her to formal studies in Yoga Teacher Training at the Fremantle Yoga Centre in 2001. Around the same time she completed an Advanced Diploma of Ayurveda under the inspirational Dr Rajen Cooppan, an Ayurvedic and allopathic doctor .
On completion of her studies Leah worked in an Ayurvedic Centre in Fremantle for two years. Following her time there she moved into private practice focusing on Ayurvedic lifestyle consultancy and Panchakarma therapies.
Leah went on to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Acupuncture and is also completing a Post Graduate in Marmapuncture ( Ayurvedic Acupuncture ) with Dr Frank Ros.
Leah now offers her Knowledge of Ayurveda and Acupuncture. Both medical paradigms are complimentary and have common beliefs. Both systems are based on the laws of the five elements and believe that an individual who lives in harmony with the laws of nature remains healthy. Both systems use similarities in diagnostic techniques as in palpatation of the pulse, observation and believe the mind and body are inseparable. An important common feature is the belief in Prana/qi that circulates through the fourteen primary channels of the body.
Leah is inspired by the daily practices of Yoga and the simple Ayurvedic routines which have greatly enriched her own life and draws from her journey of infertility and involvement in IVF programmes. In her own words: “If it wasn’t for Ayurveda, I would never have conceived. With Ayurveda’s unique individual approach to health I learnt simple life changing routines to keep my Vata body type in balance.
