Leah Albrecht (Adv. Dip. Ayu.)
Leah comes to Ayurveda from a nursing background and has practised nursing for over 20 years in various fields.
Leah commenced her training in Ayurveda in 2000 with Dr Rajen Cooppan (M.B., Ch.B, M.D., Dip. Ayu.)
Leah's love of Yoga and dedicated practice over 25 years led to the desire to undertake formal studies in teacher training with Kale Leaf at the Fremantle Yoga Centre. She completed a year of the training before the birth of her son in 2002.
In 2004 she qualified as an Ayurvedic Practitioner, attaining a diploma in Foundation Training in Clinical Ayurveda, Purvakarma/Panchakarma training and Advanced Training in Clinical Ayurveda.
On completion of her Ayurvedic studies, she worked for two years at the Ayurveda Awareness Centre in Fremantle. During her time there, Leah gained practical experience in lifestyle consultancy and panchakarma therapies.
Following this, Leah moved into private practice and also worked at the Tara Buddhist Centre in Bunbury, where she was heartened by the great response to this healing tradition.

Nikki Leaf (Adv. Dip. Ayu.)
Nikki has been teaching Yoga and was co-director of the Fremantle Yoga Centre for over 20 years. Her style of teaching takes a therapeutic approach, with consideration to the individual ayurvedic body type (dosha). She also specialises in womens' Yoga with a particular interest in teaching pregnant women.
Nikki commenced her training in Ayurveda in 2000 with Dr Rajen Cooppan (M.B., Ch.B, M.D., Dip. Ayu.) In 2004 she qualified as an Ayurvedic Practitioner attaining a diploma in Foundation Training in Clinical Ayurveda, Purvakarma Training and Advanced Training in Clinical Ayurveda.
Nikki started private practice at the Fremantle Yoga Centre on completion of her studies and began integrating the knowledge of Ayurveda into the practice and teaching of Yoga.
She also introduced Ayurveda as an integral part of the Fremantle Yoga Centre Teacher Training Program. The knowledge of Ayurveda added a deeper awareness to the understanding of Yoga in the training, beyond the physical practice of asana, awakening a new holistic approach.

Our Mentor - Dr Rajen Cooppan
In 1999 Dr Rajen Cooppan held a lecture on Ayurveda at Murdoch University. His warmth and passion for Ayurveda inspired Nikki and Leah, who went on to undertake his Foundation Training in Clinical Ayurveda (F.T.C.A) studies the following year.Dr Cooppan (M.B., Ch.B, M.D., Dip. Ayu.) is a medical doctor, who following his medical training in clinical medicine and medical research, went on to specialise in Ayurvedic medicine. He is the medical director of the centre for Mind-Body Health in South Africa and founding president of the South African Ayurvedic Medical Association. He developed and taught the training course in Ayurvedic medicine for allopathic doctors in South Africa and Australia.
Dr Cooppan's simple and practical approach to Ayurveda, coupled with his extensive medical knowledge was infused with the essence of love and compassion, that lies at the heart of this mode of healing.
