Yoga is a complete form of exercise that brings health and happiness to the mind and body. Through a system that combines stretching, breath awareness and relaxation techniques strength, tone and flexibility is developed in the body while bringing calm and balance to the mind.

At Yogaveda, our Yoga & Ayurveda Centre in Fremantle, we offer a variety of classes in different styles – from gentle to more active dynamic – so that yoga can be done by all ages and body types.

Our friendly team of experienced Yoga Teachers and Ayurvedic Practitioners will provide a caring and supportive approach in your journey to radiant health.

Hatha & Iyengar

A series of yoga postures that are held to develop strength, tone and flexibility in the body. Developing calm and steady breathing as the yoga postures are practised is also an important feature of these styles. The influence of the Iyengar method places more emphasis on correct alignment and the use of props to provide support in areas of restriction.

The Absolute Beginners, Beginners /General, Beginners Iyengar & General Iyengar are all taught in this style and open to all levels.

Restorative/Stretch~Relax~Restore

A slower moving series of more passive stretches,  which allows the mind and body the space to relax and let go of stress and tension. The focus on longer-holding, supported postures enhances deeper breath awareness, which calms and soothes the nervous system and helps to restore depleted energy.

Particularly beneficial for those suffering from stress and anxiety conditions, adrenal exhaustion, fatigue, illness and injury recovery.

Beginners welcome!

Pregnancy & Women’s
Wellbeing Yoga

A specialised class providing support, and helping to maintain balance, through the many challenging phases of a woman’s life.

The focus of yoga postures in this class is particularly beneficial for those looking to improve their fertility and become pregnant, for the pregnancy and post natal period itself, for menstrual disorders and also the passage of menopause.

*Please note pregnant newcomers will need to contact Nikki before attending classes.

Cancer Wellness

A specialised class tailored for those dealing with Cancer and their carers / support people. Focuses on gentle, supported stretching combined with breath awareness and relaxation to promote feelings of positive wellbeing.

Yoga for Seniors & Beginners

This class offers supported yoga poses and gentle stretching to bring about ease of movement in the body. The focus is on working with the breath to develop body awareness, correct alignment and release of tension. Props are used to allow stretch in tight and restricted areas of the body.

Stretch & Unwind

A long, slow, deep stretch to unwind the tensions of the week and prepare for the weekend. Suitable for all levels. Designed to restore, rejuvenate and energise the body while settling the mind and bringing centredness and balance to the system.

Classical Vinyasa

A 'traditional' approach to Yoga practice, this class explores concepts from Yoga philosophy, includes chanting Sanskrit invocations, postures performed with precise attention to the breath and an extended period of breathing practice (pranayama) and meditation. The practices (including sitting still for extended periods) develop over time and students are encouraged to practice at home with the class as a support for individual exploration rather than a stand-alone event.

Not suitable for beginners or casual students. Please contact Christiane if you are interested to learn more about classical vinyasa practice in the tradition of Krishnamacarya/Desikachar.

Yoga for Blokes

A class designed for men who are starting out at yoga with often stiff and tight bodies. This session is geared towards complete beginners and involves stretches to slowly increase flexibility and relieve some of the aches and pains in the body. All ages welcome – no body too old or stiff to attend!

Early Morning Stretch

A great class to start the day with renewed mental & physical energy! Focus is given to releasing any physical and emotional tension creating strength, alignment and connecting breath with movement. Suitable for beginners to more experienced as variations will be offered to suit the needs of each individual.

Heal & Balance

Heal and Balance yoga classes are an integration of some of the many different paths of yoga, meditation and healing. All are welcome to join and experience the practices explored in this class, including mindful and yogic movement, meditation and inner stillness, breathwork, self-healing, sound/music/mantra, deep relaxation, and a spiritual connection with your Heart and Soul.  

How To Join Our Classes

In the studio:

We welcome you to our studio classes at Yogaveda with our team of friendly and experienced Yoga Teachers. 

You can attend in-house studio classes on a casual basis and pay as you go or prepay for a Class Pass either online or with cash.

Booking for studio classes is not required. Please bring along your own clean yoga equipment, towel, shawl, etc or you can use ours and sanitise before use.

We are continuing to offer a range of Online Yoga Classes so you can do your yoga in the comfort of your own home!

The Online Classes are live-streamed via Zoom.
