Leah’s journey to Ayurveda began many years ago through a desire to combine her nursing experience with a passion for healing naturally. Her love of yoga & dedicated practise over many years led her to formal studies in Yoga Teacher Training at the Fremantle Yoga Centre in 2001. At the same time she was in the first group of Ayurvedic practitioners to graduate in WA in 2003 under respected & inspirational South African practitioner Dr Rajen Cooppan, a qualified allopathic & Ayurvedic doctor & author of Ancient Secrets to Modern Health. After graduating Leah worked at the Ayurvedic Awareness Centre for two years where she gained immense practical knowledge and experience. Following her time there & the birth of her son she moved into private practice focussing on lifestyle consultancy & Ayurvedic therapies.
As Leah’s knowledge deepened she was inspired and intrigued by the subtle energy flow – Prana/Qi – that circulates through a network of channels or Nadis in our body. This interest compelled her to complete a Post-Graduate Diploma in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture at AIHM in 2012. Leah, determined to follow her Vedic passion, also studied Marmapuncture-Ayurvedic Acupuncture under renown academic & author Dr Frank Ros. In 2017 Leah completed ‘Prescribe Like A Master’ parts 1 & 2 with Dr Rama Prasad which has greatly enhanced her practice with prescription strategies.
Leah now weaves her knowledge from these medical paradigms to offer a unique alchemy to enhance your health & create positive lifestyle choices. She is inspired by the daily practice of Yoga & the simple Ayurvedic routines which have greatly enriched her own life. Her special interest lies in Women’s Health and Fertility, drawing on her own personal journey of infertility & involvement with IVF programmes to help women. Leah’s experience as a nurse, mother and Ayurvedic Practitioner has allowed her to encourage clients to take control of their own health & wellbeing.
Leah was, and still is, inspired by her own Mother, Chodron, and present Dharma teacher Geshe Jampel Senge who have taught her compassion & loving kindness to benefit all beings in our blessed human life.
